Payment and double confirmation before transport
Before any motorcycle is shipped or collected, the full amount (winning bid + VAT + transaction costs) must be paid into our escrow system. The seller will not release the motorcycle until this is done.
After payment, the double confirmation system is used, depending on how you collect the motorcycle:
Scenario 1 – you collect the motorcycle in person
- You pay the full auction amount into escrow.
- You go to the seller.
- At physical handover, you click "I have received the motorcycle" in your dashboard.
- The seller clicks "I have handed over the motorcycle".
- After this double confirmation, EMT immediately instructs Stripe to release the escrow amount to the seller.
The risk of damage, loss or theft passes to you at the moment of physical delivery.
Scenario 2 – you have the motorcycle collected by a carrier
This also applies if you arrange your own carrier or use one of our partners.
Step by step:
- You pay the full auction amount into escrow.
- You provide the carrier with a written power of attorney (PDF or email) authorising them to take receipt of the motorcycle on your behalf.
- You click "I agree to delivery to my carrier" in your dashboard before pickup.
- The carrier shows the power of attorney and a valid ID to the seller, and collects the motorcycle.
- The seller clicks "I have handed over the motorcycle to the carrier".
- After both confirmations, EMT immediately instructs Stripe to release the escrow amount to the seller's wallet.
- The motorcycle is delivered to your home. You then click "I have received the motorcycle" – this confirms delivery for your own records, it does not trigger the escrow release.
Note: the risk of damage, loss or theft passes to you at the moment the motorcycle is handed over to the carrier – not when you receive it at home.
Never proceed without double confirmation
- Do not release the motorcycle (as a seller) without clicking "handed over".
- Never pay outside escrow.
- Escrow funds are only released after the correct double confirmation described above.
How transport costs work
Transport costs are not included in the auction price. You pay the carrier directly (or through us if you use our partner service – in that case we send a separate invoice).
A shipping quote is based on:
- Pickup location (seller's address)
- Delivery location (your address)
- Size and weight of the motorcycle
- Chosen shipping method (standard, express, air freight, white glove)
You will receive a firm, no-obligation quote before you commit. Payment for transport is made directly to the carrier – not through the escrow system.
Note: customs duties, import taxes, and any other governmental fees are not included in transport quotes. These are your responsibility as the buyer. We provide customs documentation support but do not pay or estimate these costs.

How the shipping process works via an EMT partner
- You win and pay. You pay the full auction amount into escrow.
- You confirm before pickup. You click "I agree to delivery to my carrier" in your dashboard.
- Request a quote. Contact our support team or use the shipping calculator (coming soon).
- Choose a service. Select standard, express, air freight, or white glove.
- We arrange collection. One of our partners collects the motorcycle from the seller.
- Seller confirms. The seller clicks "I have handed over to the carrier".
- Escrow release. EMT releases the escrow amount to the seller's wallet.
- Tracking and delivery. You receive tracking updates, and the motorcycle is delivered to your door.
Arranging your own shipping? You are responsible for providing the carrier's details and coordinating pickup. The double confirmation (you beforehand, the seller at pickup) remains mandatory.

You can add additional all-risk insurance for extra peace of mind.
Important: EMT is not a transport company or insurer. Insurance is provided by the shipping partner, not by EMT. Any damage claim must be filed directly with the carrier. EMT's liability is limited as set out in our General Terms and Conditions (Article XIV).
